ZEE obtains licence to launch Living Foodz in UK

ZEE Network is gearing up to launch cookery channel, Living Foodz in the UK, BizAsiaLive.com can reveal.

Having food at its core, Living Foodz will explore different perspectives towards food and the way it touches people – from lifestyle, travel, wellness to food infotainment and reality. Living Foodz boasts of celebrity chefs and food personalities like Ranveer Brar, Gautam Mehrishi, Rocky & Mayur, Vicky Ratnani, Kunal Kapur, Rakhee Vaswani through their different shows.

UK media regulator, Ofcom recently approved the licence for Living Foodz, which means the channel can launch when it is ready to do so. Interestingly, ZEE Network UK has discarded the licence to launch movies channel, &Pictures. It seems the broadcaster is reworking on its strategy and wants to continue focus on its existing movie channel, ZEE Cinema. No doubt, the idea to launch Living Foodz comes after the successful launch of rival, Hum Masala. However, Living Foodz will become the first Indian cookery channel to be made available in the UK.

A launch date for Living Foodz is expected to be announced soon.
